Quarantine Eats
It has been a while since my last post as things had been quite busy with work and family. Then the COVID-19 pandemic started and New York City fast became the epicenter. To say it has been a difficult time would be an understatement. None of us saw this coming and now we are trying to move towards a new normal.
Celebrating a Decade of GFM
It is hard to believe that a decade ago I decided to start GlutenFreeMike.com which I affectionately refer to as my gluten-free alter-ego. My first site was pretty basic but got the job done and has continued to evolve to what you see today. It has been a passion project for me and always done on my own dime – no sponsored posts here thank you very much.
BDA: The Village Pantry
My most recent visit to see family and friends in Bermuda featured a fantastic brunch at the Village Pantry Restaurant. Located in Flatts Village, a friend of ours chose it and I am certainly glad they did as I now have a new restaurant to add to my Bermuda repertoire. While gluten-free options have grown significantly over the past couple of decades…
BDA: Harbourfront Restaurant
One of my go-to restaurants in Bermuda definitely falls into the oldie but goodie category. It’s a long-time staple that offers a consistently good experience both food and service-wise – not to mention a lovely view of the harbor. They are, and always have been, extremely diligent when it comes to catering to guests with special dietary needs.
Firebirds Wood Fired Grill
I am always on the look for new gluten-free places to try, particularly when I am traveling. On a recent trip to Virginia I came across Firebirds Wood Fired Grill. Now, those of you that know me, know that chains are not really my thing but I have had some great experiences at regional chains (of which Firebirds is one) so thought I would give them a go.
