First things first – be sure to go when the weather allows for seating outdoors on the restaurant’s lovely terrace. If you plan your visit so that you’ll be there as the sun sets you will be rewarded with a dinner show as the setting sun illuminates the surrounding mountains and Lake Geneva. It is something that is not to be missed.
On my most recent visit L’Olivier did not disappoint. As usual, everything on the menu can be made gluten-free – opening a world of options for even the most discerning foodie. I opted for the chicken roulade served with a salad and vegetables as my starter and it was truly delicious. Perfectly moist and full of flavor. The roast veal caught my attention for my main course and was served with a wonderful creamy polenta and seasonal vegetables from the restaurant’s very own garden. The veal was perfectly seasoned and cooked to gorgeous medium pink – it was truly memorable. Of course no visit to L’Olivier would be complete without one of their decadent desserts. I had the chocolate fondant cake that is filled with a molten core of rich dark chocolate and served with fresh seasonal fruit and local artisanal ice cream.
You simply cannot go wrong at L’Olivier and I highly recommend paying them a visit if you find yourself in the area. You will most definitely not be disappointed.
