One of my go-to restaurants in Bermuda definitely falls into the oldie but goodie category. It’s a long-time staple that offers a consistently good experience both food- and service-wise – not to mention a lovely view of the harbor. They are, and always have been, extremely diligent when it comes to catering to guests with special dietary needs. So, on my most recent visit to the Island to visit family and friends I decided to pay a visit to the Harbourfront.
Located next to the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute at the east-end of Hamilton Harbour it always makes for a great evening out with friends. The cuisine is a bit of Asian fusion meets Italian steakhouse and while there is quite a bit of fish and shellfish on the menu, I have never had any issue with my shellfish allergy of celiac disease and I am always completely comfortable dining there.
On my most recent visit I enjoyed a lovely arugula salad with shaved Parmesan and a tangy citrus dressing. It was light, fresh and flavorful making for the perfect starter. For my main course, I went with my usual filet mignon which was cooked to perfection and we ordered a selection of sides for the table. I always save room for dessert because they have an amazing chocolate truffle cake that is available gluten-free. It did not disappoint – a rich dark chocolate cake that was perfectly moist and not overly sweet.
