Fairmont Le Montreux Palace

Fairmont Le Montreux Palace

Montreux Jazz Cafe

Montreux Jazz Café

My annual visit to Montreux always yields surprises and this trip was no different. Sadly, this trip marked the end of Harry’s Bar which was undergoing a renovation to re-open as Funky Claude’s Bar while we were there. Restaurant L'Olivier

Restaurant L’Olivier

We dined here on the recommendation of friends who live in the area (who also happen to appreciate good food) and it is one of their favorite local spots. We were staying in Montreux but getting to L’Olivier in La Tour-de-Peilz could not be easier. The restaurant is located in the Hostellerie Bon Rivage a lovely small hotel on the shores of Lake Geneva.

Jet Set Prep

As I am once again getting ready to hit the gluten-free open road (well skies) as I jet off to Istanbul and Montreux (Switzerland) in a couple of weeks — I was reminded of a post that I did for the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness last year. It’s basically my five-point checklist that I always use to ensure that my journey will be as smooth as possible.
