I do have to admit that I was wondering how the whole process would go down before my visit. When I approached the counter and mentioned I wanted the GF roll and the person said just one moment, and went and got the manager.

I am guessing that only certain employees are trained in the handling of GF items. The manager was actually excited to make my sandwich and took all the necessary steps I would have expected. New gloves, completely different workspace for my sandwich that never touched the line, separate knife (comes with the GF roll for them to use), and my sandwich never left his sight (or mine).

Yes, walking into the proverbial den of gluten did take a leap of faith but I was well rewarded. I like that I could actually watch everything he was doing so that if something made me uncomfortable I could just say "thanks, but no thanks". I was actually really impressed with how my request was handled -- so well done Subway.

I like that the manager was the one to make your sandwich rather than just anyone. I know anything can happen anywhere but it sounds like they really did try to ensure that you would not ahve any problems.

I wish that more locations would carry GF items. It would be nice to just be able to walk in and know that there is a GF option.

It's so true. Some of the small things we took for granted now have the biggest impact.

Wow! I only wish more of their locations had gluten-free options. Looks amazing.
