Sheffa Foods Assorted Mixes

My friends at Sheffa Foods recently reached out to me to sample their full snack mix and salad topping product line. Now, I have to admit I knew very little about the company but took a look at their Web site and figured why not give them a go. After all, their mixes looked interesting. Well, you might think that all snack mixes are created equal. I would have thought so too until I tried Sheffa’s mixes which just happen to be insanely delicious.

I received their Sweet, Zesty, Tasty, and Spicy Snack Mixes along with their Mediterranean Salad Sprinkle. So let’s get to the tastings…

First up was the Sweet Snack Mix. This mix was a mélange of coconut-covered roasted almonds and soy nuts tossed together with papaya, cranberry, and pineapple. I mean what’s not to love? You get the earthiness of the nuts coupled with the perfect hint of sweet and tangy from the fruit making for a complex mix that is sure to please your palate.

Next up was the Tasty Snack Mix. This is a fantastic mix of peanuts, roasted corn, soybeans, chickpeas, pumpkin seeds sunflower seeds, hazelnuts, papaya, raisins, and pineapple. Whew…that’s a lot to pack into one bag. What’s nice about this mix is that it is it has just a hint of underlying sweetness but skews more towards the rich nutty flavors of the nuts and seeds. Just a hint of saltiness helps round out this mix.

Moving on to the Spicy Mix and I do love spicy. This mix has ground chickpea noodles, roasted corn, pumpkin seeds, and sunflower seeds. It has the absolute perfect amount of heat that is actually quite subtle and does not take away from the flavor of the other ingredients. Even my other half who is not a spicy fan loved these.

The final mix was the Zesty variety. This had the same ingredients as the Spicy variety but was, well, zesty. It had an interesting kick that was not spicy but rather “zesty”. It is actually hard to describe but was delicious nonetheless.

The final product was the Mediterranean Salad Sprinkle. Now, I have to admit I am one of those people that like nuts and things on his salad so I was so pleased to see a different mix on the market that gave crunch and flavor but was gluten-free. This mix is made up of sunflower seeds, chickpeas, soybeans, pumpkin seeds, cashews, almonds, and sesame seeds. It has just the right amount of seasoning to not take away from your favorite dressing but enough to make your taste buds take notice and provide a unique texture to your salad greens.

So I am definitely a new fan of Sheffa’s products and it is perhaps their versatility and portability that makes them even more appealing. You all know that I love a nice cocktail and 9 times out of 10 when out and about I cannot eat the bar mixes that are placed in front of me. This is no longer an issue as Sheffas cool packaging allows me to toss one of their small pouches in my bag and when the mood hits tear one open – instant snack. These will also be making an appearance in my gluten-free contingency packs that I take along when traveling because they are compact, delicious, and stay fresh until you open them.

So my thanks to Sheffa foods for making me a believer that they really are The Best Earth Can Offer. Head on over to their Web site and check out their complete product line where you can also find a local store that carries them or order online and have them shipped right to your door.
