I am always on the lookout for new gluten-free products that I can share with my readers. I received samples from Ethel’s Edibles not that long ago and was so glad that I did. I had not heard of Ethel’s before so for those of you out there in the same boat, Ethel’s makes Pecan Dandys and Hot Blondies.
Now it is no secret that I have a pronounced sweet tooth and love my sweet treats. I can honestly say that I have not had a blondie since my diagnosis going on 10 years. Ethel’s blondies are exactly like the blondies I remembered from my pre-Celiac days. They were perfectly sweet without being too sugary – a wonderful blondie base with chocolate chips spread throughout. You also notice the slight buttery saltiness that, to me makes for the perfect blondie.
The Pecan Dandys were in a word – AMAZING. I have long been a fan of pecan pie, in fact, it is quite possibly my favorite dessert. I have also not had it since my diagnosis and let me tell you that Ethel’s Pecan Dandys are pecan pie in bar form. They are caramel dreams chock-full of tender pecans. Again, they are not overly sweet and the sweetness plays perfectly off the woody bite of the pecans. If you love pecan pie and miss it, then look no further my friends, because these are the best gluten-free version I have come across.
