Montreux Jazz Café

My annual visit to Montreux always yields surprises and this trip was no different. Sadly, this trip marked the end of Harry’s Bar which was undergoing a renovation to re-open as Funky Claude’s Bar while we were there. This was the end of an era for me as many a fabulous evening (and meals) was had at Harry’s so I was very sad to see it go.

Restaurant L’Olivier

We dined here on the recommendation of friends who live in the area (who also happen to appreciate good food) and it is one of their favorite local spots. We were staying in Montreux but getting to L’Olivier in La Tour-de-Peilz could not be easier. The restaurant is located in the Hostellerie Bon Rivage a lovely small hotel on the shores of Lake Geneva.

NFCA GREAT Kitchens Chef’s Table

There are very few things that will get me to schlep downtown in the middle of the day here in New York City but I have to say that the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA) is one of them. I was recently invited to the kick-off of their GREAT Kitchens National Chef’s Table Tour at chef Jehangir Mehta’s Mehtaphor in TriBeCa…

Bloom’s Deli (NYC)

This restaurant has been on my must visit list for years. The last time I actually tried to go they were closed as a movie was using it as a location. As luck would have it, a few weeks later I had to take care of some business in the area and found myself a block away from Bloom’s – so guess where I decided to have lunch.
